Cadence is blowing us away every day with things she says (and how she says them). I swear that sometimes I feel like I am talking to a 5 year old. I never have to question how she feels, what she wants, or what mood she is in. She honestly has the most compassionate heart and tender spirit. She is loud, FUNNY, quirky, loves to sing and dance, enjoys saying the Pledge of Allegiance, easy going, happy-go-lucky, etc. I could go on and on about her amazing personality. Along with her sweet heart, she also is strong willed and a tad stubborn at times. :) But, most days are so easy and so fun with her. God has truly blessed us with a FUN FUN FUN little girl and I enjoy seeing her blossom with each day.
Cadence is extremely excited about being a big sister. We recently gave her a big girl room and she is LOVING it! She reminds herself that her baby sister will be sleeping in the baby crib because she is a baby, not a big girl. She will frequently run to me and kiss my belly and say things like, "Hey little sister. I love you. I will feed you a bottle when you come out of mommy's tummy." So cute! I can't wait to have two little girls because my one right now sure is fun!!
Here are some cute little Cady things that she has said or done that I have written down lately:
-The other week I had to pick her up early from "school" (MMO) and she was not at all happy about that. She cried all the way home and I told her that I was sorry and I just wanted her to be happy. She said, "I don't want to be happy now. I just want to cry." A few minutes later she said, "Mommy, I'm happy now." I couldn't blame the girl. After all, I am a woman and I know sometimes we just want to cry. :)
-One day we were at a store and a guy with dreadlocks was checking us out at the register. Cady looked at him and said, "I love you." He smiled and said, "Thank you." She then told him, "You have crazy hair." He laughed and I told her he had "cool" hair. (I didn't want the guy to be offended haha). She said, "You have cool hair." He then walked away for a quick second and she looked at me and said so sweetly, "I love that man!"
-One night at dinner she was scraping her fork on her high chair and I kept telling her to stop. She then banged her fork (not scraped...there is a difference according to her) and I looked over at her and she said, "What?! Don't look at me that way. I'm not scraping it."
She always keeps me on my toes. :)
-She loves saying the blessing and her prayers. One day her blessing went like this, "Dear Jesus, thank you for the food. Thank you for Mommy. Thank you for Daddy. Wait, Daddy's at work. Thank you for Kloe, Logan, Emma, Kynley, Jeremiah Mrs. Melissa, Mrs. Elaine and Sophie. Mommy, Sophie was at school today. Thank you for the playdoh and the table. Amen!"
-We were playing over at my mom's one day and at one point Cadence looked at me and said, "I'm Cayla. Say 'Hey Cayla.'" The rest of the morning she only responded to "Cayla." She was later climbing in a chair and I repeatedly called her name but she didn't acknowledge me. The second I said, "Cayla!" she looked at me and sat down. She later went with my mom to get Crosby (my nephew) up from a nap and Cadence said to him, "Hi. How are you? I'm Cayla."
Update on baby girl: We are naming her Emily. Her full name will be Emily Elizabeth Ivester. We are very very excited! I went today for my 28 week checkup and she is measuring perfectly and has a strong heartbeat. I had a lot of blood work done today...the main part was to check my bile acids to see if I have Cholestasis (what I had with my last pregnancy). I have had all of the symptoms lately so they want to stay on top of it. With Cadence, I had all of the symptoms but the results came back negative. However, since it is such a serious condition (can lead to stillbirths if the baby isn't taken early enough), they treated me for it and watched me very closely. So, regardless of the test results, the doctor told me today that they will watch me closely and probably have me come in more frequently. I have to say I am at complete peace with this, though. It was sooooooooo nervewracking with Cadence and the last couple of weeks with that pregnancy seemed like torture because I was so worried. Not to say that I don't have concerns, but I just feel like everything will be great and I know that God has Emily in His hands and regardless of whether I have this condition or not, she will come when He sees fit for her to be born. I will try to keep my blog updated on results, etc. I also had my sugar test today and should find out tomorrow if I passed (fingers crossed).
I know I have so much more I could update on, but I don't want to overwhelm myself. :) I will add a few pics as of lately of CadyBug just to show how much she is growing. God is good. Life is good. I am one happy camper. :)
